The ALAO High School Experience

 

In pursuit of its mission, The Academy of Las Animas Online offers five pathways for high school students to obtain their accredited high school diploma; Traditional Diploma pathway, Advanced Diploma pathway, NCAA Diploma pathway, Career Readiness Diploma pathway, and the Competency Based Diploma pathway.

Concentrated Focus: High schoolers take only 3 classes per 6-week Hexter. This allows for deeper focus and faster credit recovery.

Award-Winning Content: We use Imagine Learning and Teacher-Created Content customized by Colorado-licensed educators.

40+ Elective Options: Explore career interests from traditional subjects to our Drone Pilot Program.

NCAA Approved: Specialized pathways available for student-athletes.

For each pathway students must complete the credit requirements and a District Capstone project or must meet the Colorado Department of Education requirements for the Graduation Menu of Options

Program for students 18-21 

Low on credits and wanting a diploma?

​

This  pathway designed for students who thrive on practical skills rather than traditional seat-time.

Earn the NCRC: Work towards the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate.

Standard Academic Pathway

This pathway is for traditional students who are on track to graduate in a four or five year setting, and plan to attend a two year college/trade/technical school or workforce pathway. 

 

All 9th grade students will be enrolled in a standard or advanced pathway. 

Advanced Academic Pathway

This pathway is for students who are looking to attend a university or more advanced program after high school.

 

This pathway requires students to complete 2 years of a World Language.  Courses with asterisks can meet additional requirements (NCAA and LAHS)

Career Readiness Pathway

Students must be at least 17 years old prior to the start of the current school year in order to pursue a Career Readiness Diploma.

 

This pathway is not intended for students in grades 9-10.

 

Grade level placement is determined by the students age and their academic career (RITS- Record Integration Tracking System).

 

 

This academic program is designed for the traditional student and the overaged and under-credited student.

College & Career Advantage
