AOLA Online Lettuce Grow Project

Assistant Principal, Jennifer Hoelscher, on behalf of AOLA Online, nominated our school to be a part of the Lettuce Give Initiative by Lettuce Grow, a company that aims to empower consumers to lead the transition to a sustainable food system.

Lettuce Give’s three key pillars are education, accessibility, and sustainability and The Lettuce Grow Farmstand provides a school garden in just four square feet.

Today, Mr. Scott Durham, one of our Science teachers, alongside students, Victor Guerrero and Donavin Arellano, built our Lettuce Grow farmstand before the arrival of our seedlings. It is located here at our Administration Office and Pueblo Drop-In Zone (2001 Lake Avenue, Pueblo, CO 81004) where our students will maintain and enjoy the vegetables once they are ready.

AOLA Online is grateful to be a part of such a great initiative and we are grateful to Mrs. Hoelscher for opening us to better ways to support our global environment!
